Drug use

Most drug use does not result in harm. Problematic drug use and drug-related harms are not experienced equally across all populations. Poverty, unstable housing, colonialism, racism, drug-related stigma, punitive drug policies, and gendered inequities create the conditions for problematic drug use and drug-related harms. The way society responds to drug use can cause more harm than the drugs themselves.
